9 Wherefore, I say unto
you, that ye ought to forgive one another; for he that forgiveth not his
brother his trespasses standeth condemned before the Lord; for there remaineth
in him the greater sin.
Wait!
No matter how great the sin against me, if I decide not to forgive, I’ve
committed a “greater sin”? How can that
be? Perhaps it is because when we refuse to forgive, we are moving into the
shoes of Satan himself. The Lord wants to save, heal and help each of us
progress, while Satan wants to hurt, and keep us in misery and pain. Lucifer
wants to damn and keep us from progressing in any way possible.
Think
of the feelings you have had when you have not wanted to forgive? Can you
imagine that feeling being a bit like how Satan might feel? Was there a desire to have
that other person hurt and suffer? Then
you have had a taste of what Satan feels and wants for all of us. You can say you have had satanic feelings.
Now
if the other person has done something criminal, or broken rules, they need to
be brought to justice in order to help them to repent and move forward. But outside of that, forgiveness is the path
that is best for all.
Today’s Takeaway:
Have you been acting like a little Satan? Escape the bitterness and chaos.
Forgive.
