I
tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in
your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their
wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than
that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
Doctrine
& Covenants 38:30
We live in a time when it can seem like
impending doom is just around every corner.
Now days, anxiety is a very common ailment. How can we live without fear? Like the verse says, “if ye are prepared ye
shall not fear.”
So how do we prepare so we need not
fear? Let’s look at a few areas:
·
Spiritually: Are you totally committed to following Jesus
Christ. Is there some areas you need to
recommit yourself? Are you committed to following His prophets?
·
Socially: Are you committed to blessings the lives of your family and others?
·
Emotionally:
Are there people you need to ask for forgiveness or you need to forgive? Are
you living in an emotionally healthy way?
·
Financially:
Are you striving to avoid and get out of debt? Could you deal with economic
trouble like the loss of a job? Do you
have food storage?
Today’s Takeaway:
Consider if there is any of those areas listed in which you live in fear. What
if today was your last day on earth?
What would you need to make right first? What things can you do to be
better prepared? Most of all, what do you need to do to be a fully committed
follower of Jesus Christ?
